2001 Overview

2001: A Global Energy Odyssey

15th Annual National Low Income Energy Conference

June 4-7, 2001

Millennium Hotel, Cincinnati, Ohio

The 2002 conference theme, 2001: A Global Energy Odyssey, reflected the exciting and sometimes perilous energy path we are moving along in America. It also recognized that in times when many U.S. energy companies have operations in other countries and several foreign companies now control energy companies in the United States, we must adopt more of a world view toward low-income energy issues and activities.

To that end, NLIEC  reached across the world to feature a series of workshops explaining how energy is regulated and delivered to low-income and other consumers the world over. Additionally, attendees heard presentations by experts from different parts of the globe, acquire information to better prepare themselves for international mergers and acquisitions, and to expand their networking and partnerships worldwide.
