Arizona Energy Poverty Report Since its founding, the National Low Income Energy Consortium has furthered its mission of reducing home energy poverty through information development and dissemination, partnership building, training and technical assistance and the promoting effective solutions to energy hardships.
We also have tried to produce information that enhances knowledge and casts public attention upon the low-income residential energy issues and hardships facing the particular region in which our conference is taking place. For its 2005 conference, NLIEC commissioned an analysis of energy poverty throughout Arizona, in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area and in specific Phoenix area neighborhoods.
NLIEC is very grateful for the substantial contributions covering the complete analysis, report development and related services performed by APPRISE, Inc. We also appreciate the support of Bracy Tucker Brown & Valanzano, the Washington, DC, government and public affairs firm that coordinated media outreach associated with the report, and want to thank the Communication Workers of America for the financial contribution for this project. In addition, we thank the local providers of residential electricity, gas, and water -- Salt River Project, Arizona Public Service, Tucson Electric Power/UniSource, Southwest Gas Corporation and the City of Phoenix -- for their in-kind support to underwrite the design, printing, distribution, shipping and media outreach for the Arizona Energy Poverty Report.
